What’s the most outrageous costume you wear in Restoration Comedy?: Definitely the Tailor.  It's the first costume I've had where I want absolutely NO ONE to see it until I come out on stage.  Loren Shaw (costume designer) has been unbelievably kind to each and every one of us.

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: um...heh...me?  I fear I make people uncomfortable....

Who do you play in Restoration Comedy?: I'm the stage manager

What’s the most outrageous costume you wear in Restoration Comedy?: I don't have a costume, much to everyone's dismay. At one point, I wore the blue and white corset and white skirt of Amanda's maids, but it was cut in the interest of practicality (the booth is up a very narrow, very twisty spiral staircase...)

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: Naomi Bland. When she looks at you through those long white eyelash extensions, there's always a naughty twinkle in her eye.

Sexiest?: Eloise Eonnet. She's beautiful, French, and has the voice of an angel. Sexiness incarnate.

Most likely to deceive?: Greg Engbrecht. He's got charm for days (when he wants to), a wicked sense of humor, and a mustache.

What is your signature dance move?: The good old step-touch to keep time as I'm calling cues during dance numbers. Sometimes I get fancy and add claps or snaps.

Who do you play in Restoration Comedy?: Fistula & Lady Lightfinger (both ladies are in Foppington's posse, although in my mind they are the same person.

What’s the most outrageous costume you wear in Restoration Comedy?: I love my Lady Lightfinger costume with the green wig, white face, sky high heels and cupcake dress, but the one everyone remarks on is the black skintight catsuit. I love it plus I have these amazing grey streaks in my hair and glasses. Part dominatrix part sexy librarian.

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: They're all a little naughty in their own way, so it'd be hard to pick. I mean that's why they're in this play to begin with.

Sexiest?: Steve Stout, but I'm biased cause he's my boyfriend.

Most likely to deceive?: I think everyone is deceiving themselves a bit and it's not until all the characters and honest about what thy want and who they are that things get resolved.

Why should we come see Restoration Comedy?: Its unlike any other theater experience happening in new York right now. The play is beautiful and funny and the characters real even in their most outrageous moments, You're not just coming to see a show. You're going to have a total experience and it'll be different for every person, but you'll be actively a part of an evening and a community if even just for a few hours. The costumes, music, drinks and food mixed with the interaction with actors and fellow audience members creates a really unique shared experience. And honestly it's just a lot of fun. The atmosphere of the evening really gives you license to just enjoy life and your time in the building with everyone. Theater like Ed Iskandar creates really doesn't happen anywhere else right now and I think it makes for a really special experience for actors and audience members alike.

What’s the most outrageous costume you wear in Restoration Comedy?: As Sly, I wear a huge, hooded, bat wing inspired cape with a ratty brown wig and eyepatch. Underneath is the smart vest/blouse/trousers combo trademark to all of Mr. Worthy's servants.

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: Bonnie Milligan. Good lord can she play naughty. She keeps it under control offstage, but the ticket is truly worth it if only to see her turn it out.

Sexiest?: Emily Brown. Her singing voice could domesticate a god.

Most likely to deceive?: Restoration characters are most often defined by their names, so I'm afraid it's me.

What is your signature dance move?: Any manner of shuffle. I am very large and dance floors are often crowded.

Tell us about Restoration Comedy: ResCom is a force of comedic nature. It's a hilarious vivisection of attitudes towards fidelity and marriage as seen through a sex positive, EVERYONE FREE TO LOVE WHO THEY LOVE AND HOW THEY LOVE lens.  There's also free drinks and food, sexy-as-all-hell dancing, amazing music and reeeeediculous costumes.  

Describe Restoration Comedy in 3 words: Many. Naked. Actors.

Who do you play in Restoration Comedy?: Sir Novelty Fashion, or as he is known in Act 2 Lord Foppington.  He's sort of a combination of Karl Lagerfeld, Dudley Moore's Arthur, an obscure sketch from The State, a Lady GaGa impersonator and a rabid jungle cat. After a few drinks. In six inch heels.

What’s the most outrageous costume you wear in Restoration Comedy?: Everything. All of the things. I can't go into specifics without spoilers but phrases like butt pants and clawed leather glove may give you a hint or two. Or that there's a costume piece in act two that is about as large as 2/3 of my body.

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: Ivano Pulito. He knows what he did.

What is a kiki?: A kiki is a party where everyone is in lingerie (male and female). There are strong supplies of port, manhattans, and fuzzy navels. And any food that is presented must be a dessert. Needless to say, where the night takes us is always a surprise.

Tell us about Restoration Comedy: Restoration Comedy is a rich look into one of the least known and most underestimated classical genres, adapted through a contemporary lens that allows us to appreciate it's brilliance. Farce, sex, social liberation, and intricate wordplay combine into what was a rebirth of the theater in 17th-century London. As our director Mr. Iskandar has pointed out, the action played out on Restoration stages was in all likelihood even raunchier than downtown New York theater audiences are accustomed to.

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: Greg Engbrecht, just look at his mustache.

Sexiest?: Rosa Gilmore, who plays sex in heels, all 6 exotic feet of her.  Men go weak in the knees at the sight of her. To top it all off, she is a concert violinist. Are you kidding me??

Most likely to deceive?: Matthew Cox, who can improvise his way into and out of many a sticky situation.

What is your signature dance move?: My patented take on the Peanuts dance. You'll see it in the show.

What Scissor Sisters song would best describe you?: “Year of Living Dangerously”

Name: Emily Brown

What is a kiki?: A kiki is the coolest party ever, that everyone finds out about the day after it happened and wishes they had been there. It's an insider community where everyone who might be considered a freak during their everyday lives is suddenly regarded as the most famous, beautiful, chic and celebrated person in the world. It's a magical, fantastic night; anything can happen, and only those who made it there will ever know exactly what did.

Tell us about Restoration Comedy: Restoration Comedy is not just a play, it's truly a three dimensional experience and a delight for the senses. Ed and the cast have created a world for the audience to step into and become a part of. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by actors in sumptuous costume, singing and playing baroque music in an intimate, "salon"-style setting. The generosity of spirit that the performers embody while acting, whether it be ridiculous scenes of hilarity, or intimate, heartfelt scenes of moving depth, extends beyond our efforts on the stage and into our conversations and creative interactions with the audience throughout the night. Our goal is to move you, to lift your spirits, to leave you buzzing with joyful energy when the night is over.

Describe Restoration Comedy in 3 words: Fun, Sexy, Joyful

Who do you play in Restoration Comedy?: I am in the Dance Company/Ensemble, and am understudying Amanda.

What’s the most outrageous costume you wear in Restoration Comedy?: That is very difficult to answer! I have to go with my Whore costume for the Whores and Johns scene near the top of the play. It's some pretty outrageous black sheer lingerie and neon underwear!

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: Naomi Bland, hands down. In rehearsal, that woman has no fear and no inhibitions. I admire that about her.

Sexiest?: That is truly impossible to answer, because every person in our cast is the sexiest person I have ever seen. I guess it comes down to a toss up between Rosa Gilmore, who plays Berinthia, literally the human embodiment of what I imagine a Greek goddess might look like, and Steve Stout in his four (maybe five?) -foot wig.

Most likely to deceive?: Not really sure how to answer this one...but Ms. Jennifer McCormick has a pretty mischievous twinkle in her eye.

What is your signature dance move?: I have a pretty fantastic moment at the top of Act 2 where I get to basically freak-dance with the floor. I will take full credit for that bit of choreography.

What Scissor Sisters song would best describe you?: Some hybrid remix of "Kiki" and "Fire with Fire" :)

Why should we come see Restoration Comedy?: Because it's unlike any other theatre happening in New York, because our cast and creative team is bursting with undiscovered talent, and because I can guarantee that you will walk away with a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

What is a kiki?: A Kiki is a social event during which like-minded people gather to dress in the latest fashions, experiment with alcohol and other drugs, and discuss topics of a gossipy nature.

Tell us about Restoration Comedy: Restoration Comedy is a celebration of love in all its varieties, wrapped in an evening of theatre, dancing, sex, and libations that will stimulate, satiate, and leave you begging for more.

It is a beautiful extravaganza of art that shines a light on our modern day society and truly encourages every person to be themselves and to celebrate life as we only get to live it once!

Who do you play in Restoration Comedy?: Amanda’s Sassy Servant

What’s the most outrageous costume you wear in Restoration Comedy?: I have a classic ‘servant’ costume with light blue corset and bonnet. Some might call it “Outrageously Adorable”

Which cast member is the naughtiest?: Greg Engbrecht, as the Tailor

Sexiest?: Emily Brown, especially in her blue wig!

Most likely to deceive?: James Fouhey. By his performance you would think he is a crazed rake, but is ultimately big softy!

What is your signature dance move?: I call it the “drop it like you just can’t find it”.  The dance move involves cleaning under audience chairs.

What Scissor Sisters song would best describe you?: "Night Life" because “I was a young girl/ Knew next to nothing/ Living in the suburbs.” And now this is my Debut into  NYC theatre and Night Life!
